Prior to placing the cosmetic product on the EU market, it is mandatory to notify the product to the EU Commission via the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal (CPNP). CPNP is an EU-wide web-based online portal where certain information about the product is submitted by electronic means. For products which contain nanomaterials, they have to be notified to the CPNP 6 months prior to placing them on the EU market.
